Hello! My name is Trey McHugh and I am a multi-instrumentalist Music Director based in Los Angeles. I moved here following my graduation from Berklee College of Music in 2021 where I received my bachelor's degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. Over the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to music direct with a number of artists, headlining shows at LA venues like The Echo and Non Plus Ultra, as well as the Gasparilla Music Festival in Tampa, FL. Outside of music direction, I also have spent time as a session musician, arranger, producer, and composer. I thrive best wearing different hats and pushing the boundaries of what music can be. 

I have also spent the past two years as the drummer in the Groundlings Theater band. The groundlings has been an institution of improv and sketch comedy for 50 years. My unique experience here has allowed me to develop as an improviser and writer, creating shows every week in a high stakes team environment. It has also shown me the limitless potential and power of music when used in unconventional and creative ways. 

I feel so lucky to have experienced moving and profound live music throughout my life. It was these experiences that lit the passion for music inside of me. In my career, I strive to create these experiences for others, inspiring and making a real impact on their lives.
